We are excited to announce the release of the new Full Stack Web Development V8 Track. All self-paced Online Software Engineering students will be transitioned over the new track on Monday, September 30th, 2019
We look forward to sharing this new material with you. We’ve rewritten our sections on JS basics, Rails as an API, Formalizing JS, Syntax Sugar, Advanced Functions, and Object Oriented JS. We’re also cleaning up, reorganizing lessons, and removing outdated content.
After the track is updated on Monday, September 30th, please review for the new track for updates and proceed with your learning. If you would like to move back to a prior version, you may do so during the open period from September 30th, 2019 - October 30th, 2019. Please reach out to your Section Lead as referenced here. Note: If it is after this period, please talk to firstname.lastname@example.org to make a request.
Why should you should stay in V8?
We strongly recommend that you remain in this upgrade. We have mapped progress from former versions of the curriculum so you will see minimal impact to your progress in the curriculum track. While completion is important, capability in job interviews is far more important. Even if you're close to finishing the V7 track, investing the time to get to learn more up to date information will make you a better interview candidate. Additionally, future curriculum updates will be built on the V8 so if you switch to a prior version of the curriculum, you will lose access to future updates of the curriculum.
